NCPEID October Collaborative: Pre-School & Post Secondary Transition

Listen in on the October NCPEID APE Collaborative featuring guest speakers Heidi Ambrosius and Steve Eggerichs as they discuss everything Pre-School and Post Secondary Transition. Heidi discusses everything pre-school including APE services during early childhood, different models of delivery, and the importance of assessments. Steve Eggerichs touches upon post secondary/transition in APE and different programs including Projects L.I.V.E, Bridge, and SEARCH.

Heidi Ambrosius is a CAPE certified adapted physical education specialist at Moreno Valley USD and adjunct professor at California State, San Bernardino. She received her bachelor’s degree from CSUF, Master’s degree from UCLA and is now a member of the NCPEID Membership Committee. Steve Eggerichs is an adventure coordinator and APE teacher at Holmen High School in Wisconsin. He received his bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. He currently teaches the Trails Program and is involved in Universal Adventure and Outdoor Pursuits and the Transition Program. NCPEID is the National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities. They play a major role in shaping the direction of adapted physical education and adapted physical activity, as well building and promoting APE & APA programs and services.
