Today is our last day of school before winter break. I was digging through past posts and found this one from almost a year ago as 2022 was in its early days.
The Relentless School Nurse: Rebooting After Winter Break
I will follow my own advice and use this break for a much-needed reboot. I hope the readers of this blog find peace, rest, and reframing for what lies ahead in 2023. As we have learned since the onset of the pandemic, there is little we can predict but our own responses to the chaos swirling all around. Part of me feels numb, a bit of malaise maybe, or perhaps just sheer exhaustion.
Here is to a much-needed break from responsibility so tremendous, caring for other people’s children, that when I stop to think about what it all means, the hair on the back of my neck stands up! I want to extend special appreciation to the legions of school nurses who have reached out to me this year and in years past. Your support has given me the fuel to keep writing, speaking, and sharing ideas.
I am thinking ahead to 2023 by reflecting on 2022 and hope to meet more of you in real life this coming year! Enjoy a safe and healthy holiday!
