The Relentless School Nurse: I am a Jewish Woman Who is Speaking Out

Relentless School Nurse

The Nazi party was started by 3 people. I will not sit silently as the rapid rise of antisemitism swirls all around in the vitriol of hate that is festering in our country. The election is just eight days away. Violence is now part of our political discourse. With the rise of racism, misogyny, “othering,” anti-immigration, anti-LBGTQ+, and transphobia, do you see that “they” are coming for many of us?

More Notes From An Olympic Observer

Physical Education Update

With the Olympics over, there is now a huge gap in my life that only watching 18 hours of daily television sports can fill. During the games, I was occasionally able to wrench my bloodshot eyes from the television screen long enough to jot down some observations. Here they are: Race Walking. I’m not a race walking fan. It’s a contrived form of locomotion, in which highly trained athletes are confined by unnatural rules that they all break.

Reimagine the Role of PE to Reconnect With Your Students

Speaker: Jeremy Kellem, M.Ed. - Educational Strategist, Former Athlete, and CEO/Founder of W.I.N. (We Impact Now, LLC)

For many students, physical education is critical to becoming active and developing healthy routines. But how is this possible anymore with the repercussions of the pandemic? Years of COVID-19, social distancing, and virtual learning have all had a profound effect on students, which means educators need to adjust their classes accordingly. The good news is that P.E. can still play a vital role in helping students intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially.

Airlines – The Tilting Seat Dilemma

Physical Education Update

I don’t like air travel. It’s because I have a slight case of claustrophobia, that shows itself only occasionally…like when I get caught in an avalanche, become pinned under a toppled elephant, or travel in an airplane. Sometimes the latter is worst of the three situations. Having just completed a team trip involving air travel – and knowing there are other claustrophobic fliers out there – here’s a suggestion to the airlines that will help those with my affli

Speaker: Shane Pill PhD, MEd, BEd, LMACHPER, FACHPER - Physical Education and Sports Researcher, Professor, Consultant, and Speaker

Physical education is an important part of the development of the whole person: physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.
