Wellness Warriors: Stepping up for Our School Staff

SHAPE America

As the principal of a preK-12 school in remote Eastern Oregon, one of the lessons I’ve learned is this: A school staff that is cared for is a staff that will be ready to take on any obstacle that comes their way. We all know that stress in the education field is at an all-time high. School administrators must figure out ways to support staff members, so they don’t join the growing number of teachers who have decided to leave the profession.

Physical Education (PE) a guilt-trip subject for education systems

Reinventing the Game

The Perfect Physical Education (PE) classroom – What does it look like? Is PE a guilt-trip subject for education systems to ensure there is a balance in their existence? Is it a subject that no one in a typical school takes seriously (as in 100% believe that it has a role to play and its clear on its operations)? The macro education environment seems to believe in its presence and its deserved existence but the worry for me is its micro presence in schools.

Reimagine the Role of PE to Reconnect With Your Students

Speaker: Jeremy Kellem, M.Ed. - Educational Strategist, Former Athlete, and CEO/Founder of W.I.N. (We Impact Now, LLC)

For many students, physical education is critical to becoming active and developing healthy routines. But how is this possible anymore with the repercussions of the pandemic? Years of COVID-19, social distancing, and virtual learning have all had a profound effect on students, which means educators need to adjust their classes accordingly. The good news is that P.E. can still play a vital role in helping students intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially.
