New to PE? A Mini-Series for First Year PE Teachers

This past year, during COVID, was my first year as a PE teacher after nearly fifteen years as a 3rd and 5th grade general education teacher.

There are so many ways to describe how the year went, mainly because it felt like everything was changing by the week. But some of the main things I came back to, time and again, and am continuing to use this year as I head into my second year, I want to share with you in this series: New to PE?

If this is your first year, or if you have been a PE teacher for a while, I hope this mini-series can give you some ideas to think about as we head back into the 2021-2022 school year.

In the upcoming weeks, I will be sharing posts all about what helped me when it came to:
  • setting up my scope and sequence
  • my daily schedule and class schedule
  • rules and consequences
  • routines and expectations
  • warm ups, cool downs, and Mindful Moments
  • stations and assigning squads
  • some of my favorite blogs and YouTube channels that saved me time and again!
  • and more...
I hope to see you back here to not only read about what worked for me, but to share your own ideas resources, and questions in the comments below. I look forward to sharing with you and helping to support you in this upcoming school year.

Stay well,
