The Relentless School Nurse: The Relentless Need Continues – Making the School Environment Safe & Healthy for Learning

Thank you, Ken McGill, EdS LMFT, and Opeeka, for inviting me on your podcast, Innovation In Care Collaboration. I enjoyed our conversation and appreciate the opportunity to talk about the scope of school nursing practice.

You can listen to our conversation by clicking the link below:

School Nurses fulfill a critical role to advocate for health and safety protocols, inside and outside of schools. Keeping our young people ‘safe & healthy’ is only a third of what they strive to accomplish within their role. Others they work to serve are school personnel (teachers, administrators, and staff) and communities (home, family, friends). Our guest today is Robin Cogan, a health expert, who has over 20 years in serving as a School Nurse, working in the Camden City School District, in New Jersey. She is also a nationally recognized leader in moving schools into the 21st century towards the highest levels of medical practices and protocols. School Nurses have led the charge, even before the pandemic, in keeping our schools a place where everyone can learn while remaining safe and healthy.

  1. Keep up the life-saving work Robin! We ‘Thank You!’ for all that you have done, continue to do and will do in the future. The mantra must be “What can I do to help you?” I am looking forward to collaborating in any way possible so that you and every School Nurse can proclaim, “Mission Accomplished” Looking forward to the day where every student, teacher, school staff member and community can be safe & healthy!
