Last week, I witnessed a great example of the optimal use of facilities and cooperation between sports teams. While the school has a great sports tradition, its outdoor facilities are limited to a single football field, bordered by houses, a rock outcrop, a parking lot and the back walls of the school itself.

In an age in which legitimate sports like track and field , amateur wrestling , lacrosse, rowing — in fact most Olympic sports — struggle to get any television coverage whatsoever, I have just seen the ultimate sports television travesty. Full sports television coverage of a rock, paper, scissors tournament. That’s right.
