Yas Marina Formula 1 Circuit: A Photographic Tour

A photographic tour of one of the most advanced F1 tracks in the world: Yas Marina Circuit - Abu Dhabi

Updated September 2023

On the adult playground of Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, the Yas Marina Circuit rightly hogs most of the limelight.

Modern, fast and not for the faint of heart, the circuit and adjoining W Hotel are a testament to getting stuff done by throwing money at it.

The track hosts Formula 1 of course but is also a playground for those with fast cars, bikes and feet!

You will often find people running around the track late at night and early in the morning. An amazing venue to work on your health and fitness!

What makes the place even more remarkable is that the whole thing, including the hotel, was built in just 1 year and 18 months! We took a look around and did a lap in a bus.

Another interesting fact about the track is that the winners of the F1 race do not, in fact, spray the crowd with champagne from the podium. It is in fact sprite, sprayed from a fake champagne bottle.

The Sporting Blog visited the famous track, back in 2017, and had quite the time. Please feel free to look around our photographs of the Yas Marina Circuit.

Yas Marina Circuit: A Summary

Spanning over 5.5 kilometres, the track is most famous for hosting the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, typically the end of the season for one of the world’s most popular sports.

Its unique design incorporates a waterfront setting, passing through the Yas Marina and under the W Abu Dhabi Hotel.

The circuit's illuminated surroundings make it one of the few night races in Formula One, enhancing its visual appeal, and making it popular with spectators.

The grandstands offer excellent views compared to older tracks, and the atmosphere has a youthful, vibrant vibe.

Additionally, the venue hosts various motorsport events, track days, and driving experiences, making it a hub for both professional racing and recreational driving activities in the Middle East.

Some of the greatest F1 drivers have won Grand Prix here, and that will remain the case for many years to come. Check out our images below!
