Shohei Ohtani.

4. Is there a coach, teammate or even a club from your youth that has had a material impact on your life in sport today?

Andreas Fopp was my first pitching coach, he taught me everything I knew about pitching - but he also taught me how to keep my mind clear, and how to act under pressure. Those skills I use in my day-to-day life.

5. Growing up, playing with friends, where was your 'Wembley', 'Centre court' or 'Madison Square Garden'?

Hewett Academy.

6. What is the hardest part about professional sport?

Dealing with pressure and loss, it is important to keep your head clear, and not get emotional about the situation. Trying to stay logical and rational is one of the hardest things to do.

7. What is the biggest sacrifice you have had to make in order to get to where you are now?

I’ve had to leave my brother behind. When I first started playing it was all about us, the dynamic we had, the fun of playing together. However, he has drifted away from the team, and I have had to carry on without him.

8. What is your proudest moment in sport?

When I see the team come together and work like a machine, nothing can stop us. And it makes me happy to feel a part of that team

9. And what is a moment you wish you could take back or start over again?

When I let myself get too emotional sometimes, and as a result make poor decisions when pitching. I wish I could re-do those moments and screw my head back on.

10. Who is your most respected opponent or competitor?

Kieran O’Carroll - Harwich Bay Area Blues. He always turns up with a smile on his face, and he is the best sportsman I’ve ever come across, never argues never complains, always does his job and supports his team, as much as the opponents.

12. What's next for you and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

I hope to one day make it into the GB international team, I will continue to train and train until I can complete at that level, no matter how hard I have to work.

Let us know what you have going on in your life now and say thanks to any sponsors or clubs…

I would like to thank the Norwich Iceni, for all the support, respect, and training they have shown and provided me with. I wouldn’t be where I am now without it.
