Reinvestment

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who took advantage of the back-to-school sale and purchased from the website. The best way I could think of saying thank you to you all is to reinvest back into Montessori Physical Education, and I did just that. The past month has allowed me to do two incredible things I want to share with you. Number one, I purchased an iPad, which I will use to record the students playing the games. Number two, I purchased a license to Grammarly, which has accelerated my editing process by warp speed.

I don’t know about you, but whenever I need to learn something new, I go straight to YouTube. If it has to do anything with home repair (which it seems like I constantly have to research), I would much rather watch a five-minute video. Reading an instruction manual and trying to decipher their diagrams is not my idea of fun. The thing is, some of you might feel the same way about Montessori Physical Education. You appreciate the games, but you would much rather learn these games by watching a video instead of reading a ten-page lesson plan. I hear you, and I am working on it.

With the purchase of a new iPad Air, I can get super crisp video and edit it on that machine. I have not had a new computer in a long time, and I have never owned a tablet computer before either. However, it is pretty cool and is already paying for itself with all the videos I have begun taking. After collecting as much as possible, I will begin the video editing process and create video tutorials that go along with the lesson plans. Hopefully, everyone like me and would rather watch a video than read a novel is excited for this subsequent development of Montessori Physical Education.

I won’t lie; I am a little obsessed with Grammarly. I cannot believe how easy and thorough this program is. It has accelerated my editing process ten-fold. I went back and re-edited all of Volume One to test it out. Not only did it catch tons of mistakes that Microsoft Word missed, but it also helped me not be so “wordy,” which is one of my most significant faults as a writer. The problem with self-editing is I think that being too wordy is a good thing. Still, I also know that not everyone appreciates that writing style and too many words mean the overall message could get lost. This program has helped me clean up my language to get to the point faster while being clear and engaging. This should mean better readability, especially if you thought the lesson plans dragged on before.

Since I re-edited volume one, I will resend that to everyone who purchased that on the website. I am almost done editing volume two, and I will send that out for free to everyone who has already purchased that as well. What I hope is, with the help of Grammarly that volumes three and four will not be too far behind. When I have all the volumes edited with added diagrams, I will have a big surprise for everyone!

Getting the iPad and the Grammarly license happened because of the generosity of people like you. Thank you so much for believing in the power of integrated physical education. I believe integrated PE is the best way to do PE because it teaches while they play. I hope you and your students enjoy the games as much as I enjoy creating them. If your students are anything like mine, I think your students are in for a fun year of physical education.
