Reach Outside of the 4 Walls of the Gym During my 20 year career as a PE teacher in Vinton, Iowa, my school would hold an open house the first few weeks of school. For me, as the Physical Education teacher, I would put all the different types of balls in the middle of the gym.

One of the most frustrating things that happen on a way too frequent basis is students who don't go to PE because they are held back by a classroom teacher. The student being held back is almost always from upper elementary or middle school. If a student was misbehaving in class and not listening to the teacher, they missed PE.
